Unlike specific characteristics that make up an individual, "essence" is undefinable and quite intangible. We each have our own unique blend that makes us the individuals we are. 

Our essence is our soul.

Our essence can not be duplicated.

It comes from deep within and manifests in everything that we do.

I believe that dressing and decorating ourselves is a fun way to share a little bit about who we are. I do this on a daily basis. I love putting outfits together and accessorizing them....even if that means pairing some denim overalls with some colorful Chucks and throwing in a funky necklace. (which is an often repeated outfit since my office is in my home)

It is a seemingly small and insignificant thing; however, it is also such an easy way to make yourself feel good. It is an easy way to put some spirit in your step. It is an easy way to personalize yourself.

Personally, I love color and the unexpected. I am not refined in my dressing. Anyone who knows me can attest to this fact. There are so many times that I have heard the phrase....."I could never pull that off, but you can because it is you." The older I get, the braver I am.

Everyone has a different style and that is to be celebrated because that is what makes the world go round. We do not and should not all have the same taste. While clearly, how you style yourself is a tangible expression of you, I believe that it ultimately stems from what makes up your essence.

And that is the concept for my jewelry.

I try to incorporate a little bit of everything into what I make. There are more delicate pieces and there are bold, colorful, wow pieces.

The majority of what I make is one of a kind with the exception being those few designs that say "everyday" to me. I will repeat those because I believe they hold more universal appeal while still adding a bit of flair.

Inspiration comes from any number of sources. Sometimes it is a fabulous piece of material. Sometimes it is a vibe from a spread in a fashion magazine. Many times it is from  looking outside my window and taking in whatever the particular season offers as a visual. Inspiration can literally come from anywhere.

I work with a little bit of everything and am constantly discovering new components that I love. The most enjoyable part of the process is coming up with new designs because I love to play with color and shapes.

I make what I love.  If it is not something that I would wear, I won't continue making it, even if I am half way through the piece. A huge part of the process is the energy that goes into what I am creating. There is nothing better than feeling my heart leap when I have completed a piece  because I love it so much.

I put a lot of time and effort into everything that I make.  It is made with love.

It is my hope that when a necklace or a pair of earrings travels to someone's home, that person loves it and enjoys wearing it as much as I enjoyed making it.
